Louise Bougourd
Having lived in Devon from the age of 11, Louise has enjoyed the countryside as a child and as an adult; marvelling at the diverse weather and views that the county has to offer. As a mother she has actively encouraged her sons to explore and embrace the county’s beauty. Although Louise has no formal training beyond Art GCSE and ‘A’ level, she has a natural talent for capturing the essence of a scene. By adding her artistic interpretation to an image, using bold colour and careful composition Louise creates paintings that are energetic, engaging and enchanting.
Louise has recently been invited to join ‘Devon Art Society’ exhibiting in their summer exhibition. She was highly commended for a painting entitled ‘Sunset’ and was successful in selling her work.
A love of nature and the great outdoors often leads Louise and hubby, Neil, to travel in their old sports car in search of coastal and moor land walks which inevitably inspire Louise to sketch and takes photos to use in her studio at home.
A career in teaching and having a family took up much of Louise’s time; however, she always found time to sketch and paint. It is now that her sons are at university that she feels able to dedicate more of her time to her love of painting.
